Baseball Game Preview: Grainger Grizzlies vs. Gibbs Eagles

The Grainger Grizzlies will square off against the Gibbs Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Grainger is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They fell 13-8 to Morristown-Hamblen West.

Connor May made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gibbs). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over Heritage on Monday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Grainger's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Gibbs, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
