Softball Game Preview: Brighton Bruins vs. Irondequoit Eagles

Brighton is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Irondequoit Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

After dropping their season opener at home, Irondequoit is headed out to face a Bruins team ready to give their home crowd a win. Brighton lost 11-2 to Webster Schroeder on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, Irondequoit fell victim to Greece Odyssey and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Leopards, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Brighton took their victory against Irondequoit in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-2 score. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
