Soccer Game Preview: Forney vs. Marcus

The Forney Jackrabbits will square off against the Marcus Marauders on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Forney sitting on 22 straight victories and Marcus on six.

Forney is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Wylie East get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Forney might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by three goals or more this season.

They hit Wylie East with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brooklynn Sosa, Addison E. Smith, and Devyn Gee.

Meanwhile, Marcus faced Prosper in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Marauders who were credited with the victory. Marcus got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Prosper's two.

Marcus' win bumped their record up to 17-4-3. As for Forney, their victory bumped their record up to 23-1.

Forney might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Marcus in their previous meeting back in January of 2021. Can the Jackrabbits avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
