Volleyball Preview: Staples Wreckers vs. Darien Blue Wave
The Staples Wreckers will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Darien Blue Wave at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Last Tuesday, Staples didn't have quite enough to beat New Canaan and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Darien faced St. Joseph in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Blue Wave had just enough and edged out the Cadets 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Wave sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Darien wouldn't go down easily and took St. Joseph into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 18-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-7.
Staples better focus on containing Molly Maher and Cassie Arevalo as the pair were huge in Darien's win. Maher had 12 digs and eight aces, while Arevalo had 12 digs and five aces. Maher has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played.
Darien was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 30 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Staples' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Darien, their record is now 6-2.
