Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Falls Short Against Ranked Columbia Academy

On Saturday, Oak Grove faced Columbia Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Oak Grove Warriors fell 12-7 to the Columbia Academy Cougars. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 6-2 to the Cougars when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kendrell Roberts was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Jared Milsap also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Columbia Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Coming up, Oak Grove will face off against Northeast Jones at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbia Academy, they will take on Hartfield Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
