Softball Recap: Lutheran Lions vs. Mead Mavericks
Lutheran had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 14-7 margin over the Mead Mavericks on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on 21 straight.
Meredith Barnhart was incredible, going 4-for-5 with a home run, four runs, and four RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2 runs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiley Glenn, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lutheran kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now hit at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Lutheran's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-1. As for Mead, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.
