Soccer Game Preview: Chicago Academy vs. Victoria Soto

The Chicago Academy Cougars will head out to face off against the Victoria Soto Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Chicago Academy is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Lane Tech just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Champions, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Chicago Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Lane Tech are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, it's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Victoria Soto can now relate to. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Eagles who were credited with the win on Friday. The loss continues a trend for Victoria Soto in their meetings with Hancock: they've now lost four in a row.
