Volleyball Recap: Ellis' Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Ellis had to endure a six-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Skyline Thunderbirds on Saturday. The Railroaders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thunderbirds, too.

Ellis not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Skyline between 19 and 21 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-19.

Ellis' offense was headlined by Sienna Schmidt and Haylee Comer, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Taylor Kohl and her 15 assists. Finally, Leah Reed kept Ellis' defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-9. As for Skyline, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15-1 record this season.

Ellis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against South Gray on the 27th. As for Skyline, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Larned on the 27th.
