Softball Game Preview: Cascade Kodiaks vs. Chelan Mountain Goats

The Cascade Kodiaks will face off against the Chelan Mountain Goats at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Waterville hit Cascade with a five-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Neither the Kodiaks nor the Shockers could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for an 8-8 tie.

Meanwhile, Chelan had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They blew past the Kodiaks 14-4. Considering the Mountain Goats have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chelan's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. With that tie, Cascade's record moves to 4-11-1.
