Softball Game Preview: River Valley Blackhawks vs. Stoughton Vikings

The River Valley Blackhawks will challenge the Stoughton Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. River Valley hasn't scored more than a single run for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither River Valley nor Platteville made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Blackhawks fell just short of the Hillmen by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Stoughton lost 7-1 to Mount Horeb on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for Stoughton in their meetings with Mount Horeb: they've now lost five in a row.

Stoughton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madyson Verville, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Chloe Buell also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Stoughton's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
