Football Recap: Sallisaw Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sallisaw can now relate to. They lost 35-14 to the Grove Ridgerunners on Friday. The Black Diamonds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

When it comes to explaining why Sallisaw lost, don't look at Kase Adams. Despite the final result, he rushed for 53 yards and one TD, and also threw for 204 yards on 16 of 34 attempts. Another big playmaker for the Black Diamonds was Logan Bethel, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Sallisaw has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for Grove, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Sallisaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grove, they will venture away from home to challenge Tuttle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ridgerunners will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
