Basketball Recap: Burlingame Comes Up Short

Burlingame played a tough match on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Menlo-Atherton Bears, falling 62-29. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Burlingame saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lucca Maher posted eight points and seven boards.

Burlingame's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Menlo-Atherton, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Burlingame Panthers challenge the Woodside Wildcats at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Menlo-Atherton, they will challenge Carlmont at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Carlmont has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 192 points over their last three matches.
