Softball Recap: Hicks Wins Going Away Against David Thibodaux

Hicks had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt David Thibodaux on Friday. The Hicks Pirates put the hurt on the David Thibodaux Bulldogs with a sharp 14-3 victory. Considering the Pirates have won five matches by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Hicks got a massive performance out of Kaydence Hickman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Hickman hit this season. Another player making a difference was Abby Addison, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Hicks kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Hicks' record is now 8-2. As for David Thibodaux, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Hicks will host Oakdale at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. David Thibodaux has already played their next game (against Marksville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
