Baseball Recap: Fair Lawn Gets the Win

Fair Lawn had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 5-8 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Dwight-Englewood Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cutters have posted since March 30th.

As for Dwight-Englewood, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

For Dwight-Englewood's part, Jason Lee was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Austin Kim made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Ethan Saitowitz also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Looking ahead, Fair Lawn will be playing in front of their home fans against Passaic Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Dwight-Englewood, they will head out on the road to take on Wood-Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
