Soccer Game Preview: Norland vs. American Heritage

The Norland Vikings will face off against the American Heritage Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Norland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Stranahan a 3-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, American Heritage had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over the Sharks. The Patriots' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matches.

Their offense was hitting Gulf Coast from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. RACHEL KESSLER led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

American Heritage's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Norland, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
