The Fairfield Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Mishawaka Cavemen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Fairfield will head into Saturday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 15) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Jimtown 5-3. Winning may never get old, but Fairfield sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Fairfield let Michael Slabaugh and Sawyer Ernsberger loose on the outfield. Slabaugh scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Ernsberger scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Mishawaka entered their tilt with Goshen with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They had just enough and edged the RedHawks out 5-4. That's two games straight that Mishawaka has won by just one run.

Mishawaka saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Ginter, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Shawn Nowacki, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Fairfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Mishawaka, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fairfield has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mishawaka struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Fairfield suffered a grim 19-2 defeat to Mishawaka when the teams last played back in May of 2018. Thankfully for Fairfield, Grant Jablonski (who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
