Softball Recap: Gordonsville Makes It 31 in a Row at Home

Gordonsville came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with 17 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Stone Memorial Panthers a 5-0 shutout. The Tigers' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

Not much got past Kailey Plumlee, who gave up just two hits and racked up 19 Ks to keep Stone Memorial off the board. Plumlee has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gordonsville's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Laura Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Kat Johnson was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.
