Softball Recap: Covington Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Covington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Parke Heritage Wolves on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Alexus Peaslee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

On the hitting side, Caydence Peaslee was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Rottmann, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Covington's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Parke Heritage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wolves beat Covington by a score of 8-4 later that day.
