Football Recap: Rogers Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Elkmont last Friday, Rogers came back down to earth. The Pirates took a hard 42-27 fall against the Lexington Golden Bears on Thursday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

C.J. Davis threw for 65 yards while completing 75% of his passes.

Rogers' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Lexington, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Rogers and Lexington are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Pirates will take on Geraldine at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so Rogers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Lexington, they will square off against North Sand Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th.
