Baseball Recap: Desert Vista's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Desert Vista put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Arizona College Prep Knights by a score of 9-5. That's more bragging rights for the Thunder, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cole Gomez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Noah Gutierrez, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayden Garrison, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Desert Vista's record is now 3-0. As for Arizona College Prep, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Desert Vista will be taking part in a tournament against Red Mountain at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Arizona College Prep, they are taking a road trip to square off against Saguaro at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
