Baseball Recap: Springstead Eagles vs. Cypress Creek Coyotes
Springstead had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-15 to make it six. They fell just short of the Cypress Creek Coyotes by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 two weeks ago.
Springstead saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Brandenburg, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Alex Schmidt also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
As for Cypress Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games.
