Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Lancers vs. Ozark Tigers
Lafayette had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Ozark Tigers on Thursday as the Lafayette Lancers made off with a 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Lancers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Lafayette never let Ozark on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-13, 25-13.
Maya Witherspoon paced Lafayette's offense, picking up 18 kills. Witherspoon got some help from
Carly Desarno and her 33 assists. Desarno was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Lafayette has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 32-5 record this season. As for Ozark, they moved to 38-4 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.
