Baseball Recap: Glenwood's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Glenwood never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Springfield Senators. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Titans also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Colten Haacke looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Tyler Gurski and Joe Anderson did most of the damage at the plate: Gurski went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Anderson got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave Gurski a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tucker Murphy, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Glenwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Springfield only posted an OBP of .227.

The victory (which was Glenwood's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average this season. As for Springfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Glenwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-6 defeat against Triad on the 28th. As for Springfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 loss against the Titans on the 1st.
