Basketball Recap: Woodmont's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

If Woodmont was feeling good fresh off their 53-31 takedown of Easley last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between the Woodmont Wildcats and the Greenwood Eagles didn't end well, with the Woodmont Wildcats falling 46-32. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 41-32 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Leading Greenwood to victory were Danielle Oliver and Tykirea Johnson. Oliver went 6 of 15 on her way to 15 points and five steals, while Johnson went 9 for 15 en route to 22 points and six rebounds. Oliver's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Camryn Fuller also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

With the defeat, Woodmont broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-8. As for Greenwood, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Woodmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-34 victory against Crestwood on the 18th. As for Greenwood, they are taking a road trip to face off against Easley at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
