Recap: Warren County Screaming Devils vs. Towns County Indians
The Warren County Screaming Devils''s five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They blew past Towns County 44-0 at home. Warren County's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warren County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tra'Shad Mathis, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Mathis was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Jamarion Darden was another key contributor, rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Warren County's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Towns County, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren County will face off against Lincoln County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Towns County, they will head out on the road to face off against Washington-Wilkes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
