Recap: Northeast Baptist Knights vs. Central School Pioneers
This season hasn't been kind to the Northeast Baptist Knights, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 71-32 loss at the hands of Central School. Northeast Baptist has struggled against Central School recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Central School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leland Durham led the charge by scoring 26 points along with five steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Durham posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Conway Whitlock, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds.
Northeast Baptist's loss was their eighth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.3 points per game. As for Central School, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11.
Coincidentally, Northeast Baptist and Central School will both be playing Riverdale Academy the next time they take the court. Central School will head out to face Riverdale Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Northeast Baptist will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
