Baseball Recap: Mooresville Victorious

Mooresville was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out the Greenwood Woodmen 5-3. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Woodmen recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Kiernan Herald looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Mooresville's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Tyler Denny was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kaden Bruhn, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Mooresville's record is now 9-6. As for Greenwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mooresville beat Greenwood by a score of 10-2 on Wednesday.
