Baseball Game Preview: Anahuac Panthers vs. East Chambers Buccaneers

Anahuac has gone a perfect 10-0 against East Chambers recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Anahuac Panthers will square off against the East Chambers Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m.

Anahuac is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let East Chambers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. The Panthers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2, 2024.

Blaedin Josephson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Anahuac is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-5-1 otherwise. Josephson was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Brayden Sutch was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Braedon Edmonds, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Anahuac always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

East Chambers moved to 8-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs. As for Anahuac, their record now sits at 3-6-1.
