Softball Recap: Aletheia Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Atmore Christian

Aletheia Christian Academy won the last time they faced Atmore Christian and things went their way on Thursday too. The Aletheia Christian Academy Lions were the clear victor by a 20-10 margin over the Atmore Christian Rams. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Olivia Varela was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Shelby Carmack was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

The win got Aletheia Christian Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Atmore Christian, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aletheia Christian Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Booker T. Washington at 6:03 p.m. on March 31st. Atmore Christian will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Central Christian at 4:00 p.m. on March 31st. Atmore Christian has given up an average of 16.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
