Recap: Sandy Valley Cardinals vs. Perry Pirates
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Sandy Valley Cardinals, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by Perry on the road and fell 34-7. Sandy Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
When it comes to explaining why Sandy Valley lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Nick Petro. Despite the final result, he rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown. Petro hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games.
Sandy Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Perry, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Sandy Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Perry's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Garfield at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Garfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully Perry likes a good challenge.
