Football Game Preview: Ithaca Yellowjackets vs. Laker Lakers

The Ithaca Yellowjackets will take on the Laker Lakers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ithaca is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 24-12 victory over Valley Lutheran.

Ithaca's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gibson Rondy led the charge by rushing for 69 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 218 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards Rondy has posted since back in September. A healthy portion of Rondy's aerial production (99 yards to be exact) went to Elijah Smith.

Meanwhile, Laker owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 17-0 win over Cass City. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lakers.

Laker found their leader in sophomore Christian Sanchez, who rushed for 120 yards on only nine carries. Those 120 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Sanchez.

Laker's run defense was locked in: Cass City could only muster three yards per carry. The Lakers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.8.

Ithaca's record now sits at 7-3. As for Laker, their record is now 8-2.
