Softball Recap: Sunset Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Sunset got themselves on the board against Silverton on Friday, but Silverton never followed suit. They blew past the Foxes 6-0. The Apollos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Shelby Townsend, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Jordan Pe?a was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Sunset's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Silverton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Sunset will head out on the road to take on Nelson at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Sunset's pitchers better be ready for this one: Nelson has averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Silverton, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against La Salle at 5:00 p.m.
