Football Recap: El Camino Real Falls Despite Big Games from Chayse Jackson and Raul Berdon

El Camino Real came into this matchup off a tough 26-point loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Grace Lancers by a score of 31-29 on Friday. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, El Camino Real had strong showings from Raul Berdon, who rushed for 119 yards and a pair of scores, and Chayse Jackson, who picked up 83 receiving yards and two TDs.

El Camino Real didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lincoln Elbert and Kemen Quilez.

Jake Williams was nothing short of spectacular for Grace: he rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns. Those 159 rushing yards gave Williams a new career-high. RIley Williams was another key player, throwing for 218 yards and a pair of TDs.

El Camino Real now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Grace, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Camino Real will take on Panorama at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grace, they will square off against Fillmore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 926 yards in their previous games.
