Basketball Recap: Warren Central Takes a Loss

Warren Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Pearl-Cohn Firebirds, falling 56-12. The Dragons lost against the Firebirds in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 54-35 score last time.

Pearl-Cohn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Valencia Hailey, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Myah Knowles, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

Warren Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Pearl-Cohn, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Warren Central has already played their next matchup, a 37-15 defeat against Hancock County on the 10th. As for Pearl-Cohn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-58 loss against Owensboro on the 7th.
