Baseball Recap: St. Aloysius Continues Home Dominance on Friday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but St. Aloysius had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Silliman Institute Wildcats, sneaking past 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Flashes: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-3 defeat.

St. Aloysius' win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Walt Andrews, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

St. Aloysius' victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Silliman Institute, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
