McPherson faced Great Bend in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bullpups never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Bullpups as they're now sitting on six straight.

Ian Razak made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Razak wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brenden Doile, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Carter Bengtson was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

McPherson's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Great Bend, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-5 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McPherson will challenge Buhler at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Great Bend, they will square off against Manhattan at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
