Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carmel). They took their matchup on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 40-0 win over the Watsonville Wildcatz. Given the Padres' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Wildcatz are ranked 381st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carmel's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.0 points over those games. As for Watsonville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Carmel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Watsonville, they will head out on the road to face off against Ann Sobrato at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 10.2 points per game this season, so the Wildcatz's offense will have their work cut out for them.
