Football Game Preview: North Union Wildcats vs. Northwestern Warriors

The North Union Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Northwestern Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Union will be strutting in after a win while Northwestern will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, North Union made off with a 14-13 victory over Benjamin Logan.

North Union's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Griffin Osborne, who rushed for 103 yards and one score on only 13 carries, and Nick Vanhoose, who rushed for 74 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Union was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, Northwestern played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Graham Local, falling 48-21. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 361st, while the Falcons are ranked 137th).

North Union now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Northwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.

North Union couldn't quite finish off Northwestern in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 and fell 9-7. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
