New Hope barely beat North Jackson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Chiefs on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ella Baswell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, New Hope got a big performance out of Jay Copeland, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Atlanta Copeland was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

New Hope was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are 7-3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

New Hope's record now sits at 14-16-1. As for North Jackson, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 16-12-1.

Looking ahead, North Jackson will be taking part in a tournament against Fyffe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. New Hope will be paying especially close attention to the Chiefs' game: after the Chiefs face off against Grundy County, they'll take on New Hope again at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
