Recap: Draper APA Eagles vs. Gunnison Valley Bulldogs
On Friday, Draper APA was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-54 to Gunnison Valley. Draper APA has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Draper APA's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Vijayaraghavan, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Campbell, who scored 16 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gunnison Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyson Tucker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Tucker's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Tyce Hill was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Draper APA's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Gunnison Valley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Draper APA will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Milford at 5:30 p.m. on December 29th. As for Gunnison Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Providence Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Providence Hall will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
