Football Recap: Broken Bow Indians vs. Ogallala Indians
If Broken Bow was feeling good off their 28-8 takedown of Chadron last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Broken Bow Indians fell just short of the Ogallala Indians by a score of 28-26 on Friday. Broken Bow was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ogallala apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Ayden Clark and Coy Wardyn certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Clark rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns, while Wardyn rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards.

Ogallala was led to victory by Sawyer Smith and Edan Cain. Smith rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while Cain threw for 22 yards on two of five attempts. With that strong performance, Smith is now averaging an impressive 103.5 rushing yards per game.
Broken Bow's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ogallala, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broken Bow will head out to challenge St. Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
