Airline might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Captain Shreve who claimed the real prize. The Vikings fell 66-56 to the Gators. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (49), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Airline's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dj Allen, who rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 32 receiving yards and one TD. Kenny Darby was another key receiver, gaining 239 total yards.

Jamarcea Plater was his usual excellent self, rushing for 206 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 112 receiving yards and one TD for Captain Shreve. Plater's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 3-1 Evangel Christian Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 77.5% over those games). As for Captain Shreve, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Airline didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-43 loss against Parkway on the 9th. As for Captain Shreve, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 71-25 defeat against Evangel Christian Academy on the 10th.
