Softball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Jaguars vs. Kenston Bombers
St. Joseph Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 16-10 to the Kenston Bombers.
Emily Johnson was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since April 1st. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Gabriella Croce made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Morgan Peace was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
St. Joseph Academy's record is now 6-12. As for Kenston, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
St. Joseph Academy will welcome Holy Name at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kenston, they will head out on the road to take on Chagrin Falls at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
