Baseball Recap: Millikan Wins Going Away Against Fountain Valley

Millikan barely beat Fountain Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Millikan Rams put the hurt on the Fountain Valley Barons with a sharp 9-1 win on Saturday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Barons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Millikan got a great performance from Owen Waytas as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Millikan is 3-1 when Waytas allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Noa Morales, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ben Keisler, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Millikan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Millikan now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Fountain Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millikan will welcome Jordan at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fountain Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Fe at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Fountain Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Santa Fe's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
