Softball Recap: West Elk Comes Up Short

West Elk was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-4 to the Oxford Wildcats. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 20-10 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

West Elk's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Oxford, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat West Elk by a score of 12-11 later that day.
