Baseball Recap: Mare Island Tech Academy Comes Up Short

Mare Island Tech Academy lost against KIPP King last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Griffins fell 8-5 to the Lions.

Mare Island Tech Academy got a good showing from Bernardo Vazquez, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Sebastian Romo was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Romo is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Josue Jarquin also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Mare Island Tech Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for KIPP King, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Mare Island Tech Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for KIPP King, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-5 victory against Leadership on the 2nd.
