Baseball Recap: Pittsfield Comes Up Short

Pittsfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 34-0 to the Newmarket Mules. The Panthers lost against the Mules in their previous head to head back in May of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 4-0 score last time.

Pittsfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pittsfield will face off against Farmington at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Newmarket, they will head out on the road to challenge Nute at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mules' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
