Basketball Game Recap: Madison Trojans vs. Panther Creek Panthers

Madison saw some tournament action on Thursday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 64-45 to the Panther Creek Panthers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 745th, while the Panthers are ranked 133rd).

Panther Creek was led to victory by SABIEN MCGRAW and RODNEY WAGNER. MCGRAW went 7 for 13 on his way to 17 points, while WAGNER went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points. The game was WAGNER's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of TIMI ADEBANJO, who posted six points.

This is the second loss in a row for Madison and nudges their season record down to 6-10. As for Panther Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Madison will look to defend their home court on January 3, 2025 against Inspired Vision at 8:00 p.m. Madison is facing Inspired Vision at the right time seeing as Inspired Vision is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Panther Creek, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-63 win against Skyline on the 26th.
