Recap: Sonoran Science Academy vs. Arrowhead Christian Academy Eagles
This season hasn't been kind to Sonoran Science Academy, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They took a serious blow against Arrowhead Christian Academy on Friday, falling 59-14. Sonoran Science Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-9.
Arrowhead Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Isabella Hernandez, who scored 17 points along with nine steals and two blocks. Hernandez continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Rubio, who scored six points along with two steals.
Sonoran Science Academy's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Arrowhead Christian Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sonoran Science Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jones-Gordon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Arrowhead Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Tri-City Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m.
