Basketball Recap: Crest Chargers vs. Kings Mountain Mountaineers

The Crest Chargers stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Kings Mountain 57-21 on the road. Given Crest's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 536th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nevaeh Blackwell was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was De'kaylia Davis, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Despite the loss, Kings Mountain still got an impressive performance from Mia Bridges, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks. Avery Bridges was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.

The win makes it two in a row for Crest and bumps their season record up to 9-4. As for Kings Mountain, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crest will face off against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Forestview has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 516 points over their last eight matches. As for Kings Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge the Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stuart W. Cramer will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
